Lightjams LED Mapper is always getting better. Thanks for your great feedback!
You can get the BETA version right now: Windows 64-bit. Have fun!
Custom eye candy effects: You can now create your own eye candy effects by creating .frag shader file. Use them in your project by clicking the + button on an empty media slot and selecting "Add videos, images and custom effects".
Eye candy code editor: A good looking GLSL code editor is now included. You can create and edit effects. To create a new effect, right-click on an empty slot in the media grid view and select "create new effect".
OpenAI assistant: An AI assistant is integrated in the code editor. It's able to create the code for you, explain, modify and much more!
More media! The number of media slots have been increased from 255 to 999, giving you more freedom in how you organize your media.
New media grid view: It's now easier to manage the media in the library by using copy/cut/paste and selecting multiple media slots at once. Right-click on a media slot to see the menu.
Lower output latency: Better optimized engine when there are lots of strips (100+), reducing the latency of up to 25ms.
HDR 16-bit Media: Support for media with more than 8-bit per color component. Spout, NDI, video files and eye candy effects are supported.
16-bit color engine: All color computations are now done in 16-bit instead of 8-bit in order to give the best possible output for LEDs supporting more than 8-bit.
21 Languages! For accessibility sake, you can select a more convenient language in the settings/project menu and at the bottom-right, there's the language button. The available languages are: Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Čeština, Dansk, Deutsch, English, Español, Finnish, Français, Hindi, Italiano, Japanese, Korean, Nederlands, Norsk, Polski, Português, Português Brasil, Russian, Svenska, Türkçe.
Black threshold option: If your leds don't respond correctly at low intensity, you can now set a black threshold to deactivate the leds instead of showing the wrong color. Configure it when editing strips, under the levels window.
Gamma correction option: New gamma correction option in order to give a nicer output adapted to the human eye. It even works in 16-bit. Configure it when editing strips, under the levels window.
Year setting in the scheduler: You can now specify the year when scheduling a sequence. This allows one-off event scheduling.
New extended2 dmx mode: A new dmx remote mode has been added allowing to select the media with 2 channels. It also has a 16-bit color filter to go with the new 16-bit color engine.
New dmx mode for media parameters: Control the A-B media parameters of the live panel via dmx with a consistent number of channels. This makes it easy to create a fixture profile in your console.
Select the sequence groups to control via dmx: Like for the stages, you can now select the groups you want to control via dmx (or no groups at all).
User inactivity timeout in the performer: This is optional and it allows automatically deactivating all groups when the user hasn't interacted with the performer panel for X seconds. Receiving MIDI or OS2L reset the timer. The scheduler then takes over.
More features for the eye candy: Parameters can now be named in the UI, audio data is in 16-bit (was 8-bit), fft average and beat now available for all fft frequencies, can create presets, custom colors.
Export the dmx remote control chart: You can export the dmx chart in an html format usable by Excel.
Network adapter for sACN remote input: You can now select a different network adapter for the sACN output and input.
More LED types: The LED types now include all combinations of RGB, RGBW and RGBA in any color component order, in both 8-bit and 16-bit.
CMY LED type: The cyan, magenta and yellow type has been added in 8-bit and 16-bit. This is handy when you need to control conventional DMX fixtures supporting only this color mixing mode.
Improved RGBW: Smoother channels computation while doing color transitions with RGBW fixtures.
Improved color picker: Allow selecting the luminosity of the color in the color picker. You can now easily select a darker or brighter color.
Color for your strips: When creating or editing your strips, you can now select a color to better organize your work.
Better user interface: More up-to-date style all over.
Option for small previews in the live panel: You can now decide to show the speed, intensity and color controls for each stage or a more compact view with only a preview.
Automatically dismiss the color picker when clicking outside of it: To speed up picking a color, you no longer need to click the ok button. Just continuing your work by cliking outside of the color picker is now enough.
Automatic backup takeover: This uses Art-net poll messages. In the Art-net configuration, you can specify whether this computer is the backup or primary. Then when the primary doesn't send a poll for a few seconds, the backup automatically takes over.
Delay parameter for NDI: This allows to add a delay in order to synchronize the LEDs with a slower external video system.
Clip tile mode for the eye candy effects: This tile mode hide the media outside the normal view, allowing to position the media to cover a portion of the stage.
Left-right and right-left selection modes for strips: Like in many CAD software, when moving the mouse from right to left, select any strips that touches the selection rectangle. When moving from left to right, select strips that are completely inside the selection rectangle.
OSC monitor: You can now see the incoming OSC messages to help troubleshooting. Go in the settings/remote/OSC panel and click on the monitor button.
NDI updated to 6.0: The NDI media library has been updated to the latest and greatest version.
Spout updated to 2.007.014: Spout has been updated to the latest and greatest version.
Video codec updated: Video codecs have been updated to the latest and greatest version.
Preserve stage edit settings: Now save and restore the stage settings like the media preview opacity and grid when duplicating, resizing and copy/pasting a stage in the stages manager.
Move stage related operations in the stages manager: Operations like: DVI window, export led csv, export led image. They've been moved into the stages manager window (go in the stages menu and click on the 'Manage' button at the top-right). This makes more sense to have these operations regrouped there.
Better Read-only support: When the project file has the read-only attribute, it's now displayed on the title bar and nothing can be saved, including the settings. This is useful to prevent accidental changes to be saved.
Open Sound to Light (OS2L) support: Integration with VirtualDJ via the OS2L protocol, allowing to control the performer by assigning OS2L messages to the shortcuts. The beat messages are also used to set the tempo of the performer.
Change the stage merge mode via OSC, HTTP and DMX: The stage merge mode can now be remotely controlled. The dmx extended and extended2 modes have a channel for the merge mode.
Reduce video capture latency: A few optimizations have been made to reduce the latency and CPU load.
AutoCAD DXF file import: You can now import the shapes of the strips from a DXF file. AutoCAD 2000 and up is supported. Go in the settings/project menu and click on import to see the new DXF menu item.
6 new eye candy effects: The new effects are: color dots, explosion, fireworks2, hip squares, sparks, zippy zaps.
Show the whole stage when zoom level is at minimum: Makes sure the stage is fully visible (no scroll) when the zoom level is at the minimum. Otherwise, the user thinks it's not possible to zoom out more even if he can press ctrl-0.
New 'select all unused media' button: In the media library, you can now easily see which media aren't used by any stage or sequences.
Fix showing one black frame when changing the media: The black frame was visible in the dmx output and the stage monitor.
Showtime! A complete new way to create and control your shows. Go in the new Showtime menu to get started. You can now create sequences and steps (cues) for multiple stages and easily trigger them from any remote modes - DMX, OSC and HTTP. The remote control is way easier since you only need to trigger sequences instead of controlling multiple stages and layers.
Showtime performer panel: A nice panel made to control a live show is now included. From configurable intensity, speed and color presets to tap tempo and strobe, everything you need to run a show is easily accessible. Touchscreen, keyboard and MIDI friendly.
Scheduled sequences: The previous schedule system is now deprecated. You can now schedule your sequences instead, which allows syncing multiple stages and a lot more control than before.
Updated remote modes for Showtime! All remote modes have been updated to include the best controls of the performer panel and the new sequence system.
MIDI controller support: The new performer panel can be controlled via MIDI. A shortcut editor is included to quickly map the keyboard and MIDI commands you want to use.
MIDI clock support: MIDI clock messages can be used to control the tempo of the performer.
Spout updated to v2.007: Updated to use the latest Spout version and multiple performance improvements resulting in a 2x-3x better frame rate.
Remove NDI initial delay: There was a delay when loading a project using NDI media.
Detect source gone for NDI: When a source stops sending video, the media is now trigerring a timeout after 10 seconds. This way a backup stage can be activated instead of being stuck on the last received image from NDI.
Audio auto gain: New option to automatically adjust the audio input volume to the optimal level. Go in the settings/audio menu and you'll see the "auto gain" option for each audio input device. Thanks to Isaac for insisting on this!
Eye candy effects with hue parameter: The hue parameter is now absolute instead of just a shift. So when you set the hue to 0, you get red for any effect.
Time offset parameter: Most effects and media source with a timing aspect (like a video file) now have a time offet parameter allowing to set the initial start time. When creating a sequence, by setting the media speed to 0, you can use the time offset to animate the media over multiple steps.
Copy stage content: New copy and paste commands in the stage manager to quickly update and sync the content of multiple stages. Handy when you are usings stages as layers and you need to updates them all after a change of layout.
8192 DMX universes: Up from 2048. Bigger projects are now possible!
7 new eye candy effects: The new effects are: debris, discharge, phantom star, rotating diamonds, snake spiral, torus, zebra valley.
KiNet v1 DMX OUT: Now support sending data using the KiNet v1 DMX OUT protocol.
Edit individual LED position: To fine tune the LED position, you can now edit a strip and select the Edit LED Pos button. Then you'll be able to move each LED as you please.
Import/Export LED CSV: You can now import and export all information about your LEDs, including individual positions and DMX patch information. Go under the stage to export the LEDs. Go under the settings/project menu to import CSVs.
XLights XModel Import: Quickly import the LEDs from an XModel. Go in settings/project menu and click import.
Control effect parameters via HTTP and OSC: It was only possible via DMX but now you have the same control via HTTP and OSC.
New tile x and y for eye candy effects: When zooming out or panning an effect, you can now decide to repeat or mirror the effect horizontally and vertically. That adds new ways to use the existing effects.
New hue shift parameter for eye candy effects: For most eye candy effects with colors, you can now change the colors by shifting the hue. This way, the white and other hues are still there contrary to when using the grayscale option with a color filter.
NDI 5.5: Update to the latest NDI version for even better performance with video over the network.
Hardware ID QR Code: You can now transfer the hardware id on your phone by scanning the QR code. This is handy when your computer is not connected to the internet and you need a license.
Auto group sequence: New option to generate numeric sequences for the strip group and sub-group fields.
Show more details about outside LEDS: Allow clicking on the "X number of LEDs outside stage" label to select the strips that are outside.
New stages from strips, keep positions: New option to create one stage per strip and preverse the stage size and strip positions.
Drag and drop audio inputs for quick reorder: You can now use drag and drop to more quickly reorder the audio input devices.
Allows to close the other app instance in the already running app window: When starting the app and it's already running, there's a button to close the app.
Use double quotes to preserve spaces in filter boxes: When searching using one of the filter boxes, you can use the double quotes like "I search this" to specify that the spaces are important.
Significant performance improvement: In order to support up to 8192 universes, LJLM has been optimized even further, which benefits projects of all sizes.
Improved audio analysis: Better audio mix and nicer spectrum for the eye candy audio effects.
Always save the audio mix settings: Even when it's been disabled. This way, when you reactive it, the last settings are still there.
Fix wrongly repatching when editing: When only changing a setting not related to dmx address, sometimes the strips were all repatched one after another. Thanks to Isaac for reporting this!
